Meet the Startups in Northern Alberta’s New Velocity Cohort

Introducing the Newest Alberta Catalyzer Velocity Startups from Edmonton and Fort McMurray.

The Velocity program is designed to accelerate growth for startups that are already generating recurring revenue and preparing to scale. These companies are on the cusp of major expansion, gearing up to refine their operations, strengthen their business models, and become investment-ready.

Cohort 14 Velocity North’s latest cohort features seven startups driving innovation in education, healthcare, technology, and transportation. These companies, founded by talented entrepreneurs from Northern Alberta, are creating impactful solutions across multiple sectors.

On November 27th, you have the chance to watch these founders pitch live as they take the stage to pitch their companies live at the Alberta Catalyzer Velocity North Showcase in Edmonton.

 

Meet the Startups | Cohort 14

10Alytics

Founder: Efemena Ikpro

10Alytics helps Africans and the Black community break into global tech careers. With less than 7% representation in the tech workforce, 10Alytics has already helped over 2,500 Africans launch successful tech careers in less than four years.

CMGP Calculator

Founder: Dawn Osland

CMGP Calculator provides tech-based billing tools for family physicians, helping them increase clinical revenue by up to 30% per qualifying patient visit through more efficient invoicing for administrative tasks.

xFacilitator

Founder: Alex Kagel

xFacilitator offers managed technology services, helping entrepreneurs adopt and manage digital tools for secure, efficient, and cost-effective business operations. Their solutions include asset security, risk management, and strategic technology leadership.


Moby Technology Corp.

Founder: Marcelo Magdaleno

Moby Technology Corp. specializes in control tower implementation, integrating people, processes, and technology to enable real-time decision-making. Their solutions boost asset productivity and reduce operational costs through customized dashboards.

Fairly Staffing

Founders: Amir Reshef and Aisha Abdul

Fairly Staffing connects dental clinics with temporary staff, including dental hygienists, assistants, and receptionists. Their platform simplifies staffing management by automating invoicing, payment tracking, and shift assignments.

Trouvay

Founders: Bradley Pierson

Trouvay uses advanced DNA technology to help solve cold cases, identify human remains, and assist Indigenous communities. Their work includes administering DNA tests to support Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples (MMIP) cases and identify victims of residential schools.

Kid Drop

Founder: Julieta Miranda

Kid Drop provides a door-to-door transportation solution for busy parents, with services for school, daycare, extracurricular activities, and custody exchanges. Their vehicles are tech-enabled, featuring cameras, efficient routing, and driver performance reporting for added safety.

 

About Alberta Catalyzer

Alberta Catalyzer is a merit-based pre-accelerator that offers company support, resources, and coaching to entrepreneurs aiming to launch and grow their tech-enabled companies, preparing them for advancement to the scale-up and acceleration stages.

Launched in 2022, Alberta Catalyzer is developed and delivered by Platform Calgary and Edmonton Unlimited, with support from partners and organizations across the Alberta Innovation Network.

Alberta Catalyzer is a part of the Alberta Scaleup and Growth Accelerator Program (Scaleup GAP), led by Alberta Innovates. The consortium, which also includes Technology and Innovation, Edmonton Unlimited, the Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund and Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan), allocated $35 million over three years to retain business accelerators. It’s part of an overall government goal to help create 20,000 jobs and increase technology firm revenue to $5 billion by 2030. 

Alberta Catalyzer is open to ALL entrepreneurs launching and growing a tech-enabled company in Alberta – which includes the development of a new solution, product or process that has the potential to improve or advance the industry with commercial viability.
